Emancipation Day Concert For The Free

On Sunday April 14, 2024, Washington DC hosted their annual Emancipation Day concert at Freedom Plaza. April 16, 1862 is the date that 3,100 slaves were freed in the District, nine months before the Emancipation Proclamation. This was a jammed packed event that featured artists EU featuring Sugar Bear, Black Alley Band, Kelly Price , and ending the night with DC’s own Ginuwine. What I really love about my city is how they provide free entertainment. Everybody was having a great time. We were surrounded by food trucks and they had activities for children. Events like these are perfect for family outings. Make sure that you follow @entertain_dc on Instagram to get the latest updates of upcoming events.
