Revry Brings Ballroom to Hook x Hall
On June 5th 2025, Revry, a free queer TV streaming platform, hosted the World Pride Ball at Hook x Hall in Washington, DC. The ballroom scene has been a staple in the black queer community for decades, where houses compete for the top prize. It has served as a safe space and a place of celebration for the LGBTQ+. The competitors came to play. I was thoroughly entertained. We were blessed to have legends and icons host and judge the ball. Dj Air Jared was turning out those beats accompanied by legendary MC Snookie. MC Dashaun Wesley, judges Asia Snowden, Eyricka Flawless, Leiomy Maldonado, Omari Wiles, Sexy Lexy, Vinii Revlon, Whitney Garçon, and special guest Carmen Carrera. We were introduced to DC's @kingmolasses, who will be competing in the first-ever Drag King competition, King of Drag. Keep in mind, this was a free event. The show is set to premiere on June 22 on Revry. This event was recorded, and thank God, because I couldn’t stay the whole night. I can’t wait to see who took home $6,000 on revry.com.
