Blerds Unite!
On July 8, 2023, I had the pleasure of attending my first BlerdCon. What is a blerd? It’s short for black nerd. BlerdCon provides a safe space for POCs to greek out. We can don’t have to worry about code switching or culture being policed. We can turn up and show out while in cosplay I had the pleasure to meet my childhood heroes, Cree Summers and Nakia Burrise. I spoken to so many upcoming entrepreneurs, artists and musicians. I even saw a couple of my students enjoy the tea party and participating in the cosplay contest. I’m definitely going next year.
